Data and speed
Every plan is a daily allowance, not a fixed total bucket. The whole daily allowance runs at the carrier's normal 4G/5G speed — there is no throttled tier. When the day's allowance is used up, data stops and the allowance resets at 00:00 (GMT+7). This is the opposite trade-off from “unlimited” travel eSIMs, which keep a connection alive but reduce it to roughly 128 kbps–1 Mbps after a 0.5–2 GB daily allowance.
Validity and top-up
The validity period cannot be extended — when it ends the eSIM is deactivated automatically and you buy a new plan. Adding data is separate: on Viettelplans extra data can be added through the carrier's own top-up during the plan, so a heavy day need not mean waiting for midnight. Activation and delivery
eSIM: QR code emailed within about 60 seconds of payment; install over Wi-Fi before you fly. The plan timer starts on first registration to a Vietnamese network, not at purchase. Physical SIM delivery to hotels in Hà Nội, TP. HCM, Đà Nẵng, Nha Trang, Phú Quốc. Airport pickup at Nội Bài, Tân Sơn Nhất arrivals.
Refunds and compatibility
Full refund within 7 days of purchase if the QR code has not been activated on a phone; once activated the eSIM is provisioned to the device and cannot be refunded. Device support: iPhone XS and newer, Pixel 3 and newer, Galaxy S20 and newer, and most flagship Android since 2020. iPhones sold in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau before 2024 have no eSIM hardware — those travellers need a physical SIM.
